"The Birthday Party" a short film based on a screenplay written by Sherry Mcguinn premiered at the 2009 Pan African Film Festival in Cannes (France). The film won:
* The Dikalo Award for Best Fiction Short at the 2009 Pan African Film Festival in Cannes (France).
* The Award of Merit in the category Contemporary Issues, Ethics, Religion in the 2009 Accolade Competition.
* The Micro Mini Award at the 2009 Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival.
* The Award for BestFilm/Video on matters relating to the Black Experience/Marginalized People at the Black International Cinema 2009 in Berlin, Germany.
In “Woman to Woman” to be released in 2012, a mother-daughter duo sets out to discover the perspective of a group of teenage girls growing up in New York City and the women raising them. Veronique N. Doumbe ( Co-director/mother ) interviewed the mothers individually and Malika Franklin (Co-director/daughter ) interviewed the teenage girls. The result was woven into one single conversation.
Veronique N. Doumbe currently serves on the Board of New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) as Membership Director.
